South West Airfields Heritage Trust and its Heritage Centres are staffed by unpaid volunteers who perform a wide range of tasks according to their skills.

We are united in our mission to  preserve  aviation history for future generations. We are also dedicated to providing a great visitor experience and aim to be a top historical attraction in Devon and the South West.

If you have an interest in history, enjoy meeting people and would like to help us go forward - then please call us. We are a friendly, informal group that welcomes and engages new volunteers  - and you don't need experience,  just enthusiasm, a sense of humour and a willingness to get involved. We also have social and fundraising gatherings on a regular basis.

We are interested in recruiting people to undertake the following on a part-time basis at least one day a fortnight from Easter to the end of September/October:

VACANCIES:  1 to 2 days a month  11am - 4pm

Full training given (lots of tea and coffee tasting to be undertaken)

The roles below do not have ‘regular’ hours and may be needed only intermittently.

If you think you could help us by giving a little of your time we would love  to hear from you and don't worry about the specific history, or experience, we will soon teach you and you would be paired with an experienced guide.

While all our in-house staff are unpaid we do offer the opportunity to learn more about preserving heritage, as well as taking part in visits to other museums and heritage venues.

We also get to see vintage aircraft close up such as this spitfire and Catalina !
