Our Projects

The South West Airfields Heritage Trust seeks to preserve and promote the region’s aviation heritage.  To achieve this we carry out various projects.

Our current projects are:

  • Renovation of the huts at Upottery Airfield
  • Establishment of a memorial to all those who served at RAF Exeter

Upottery Airfield: Renovation of Huts

The renovation of the remaining nissen huts that had formed the major part of the 439th Troop Carrier Groups Headquarters officers mess complex during 1944, was completed during 2013. RAF Exeter Memorial

March 27th 2012, 1100hrs  The Exeter Airport Memorial was unveiled by the Chairman of Devon County Council Cllr Jeremy Yabsley and The Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Exeter Cllr Stella Brock.
